Your privacy matters. This page explains what personal information I collect, why I collect it, how long I keep it, and the choices you have.

- I only ask for personal information when I have a clear reason to need it.
- I keep personal information only for as long as I need it for that reason.
- I aim to be transparent about how information is gathered, used and shared.
- I do not sell personal information.
Parts of this policy follow the spirit of Automattic’s privacy policy (Creative Commons Sharealike). The details below are written specifically for this website and my freelance work.
What this policy covers
This Privacy Policy applies to information I collect when you use ganesharavind.com (the public site), submit an enquiry, or interact with related freelance services I provide, including quotes, invoices and payment links (together, the “Services”).

Information I collect
I only collect information when there is a reason to, for example to reply to you, deliver work, or keep the Services secure.
Information you provide
- Enquiry form. Name, email address, project type, budget range, and your message. You must give consent before the form can be submitted.
- Client and project details. If we work together, you may provide business name, billing address, contact details, brand assets, copy, login credentials for sites I am building or maintaining for you, and similar information needed to deliver the project.
- Billing and payments. For invoices and online payments, I process the details needed to bill you and record payment. Card payments are handled by Stripe. I do not store full card numbers on my servers.
- Communications. Emails and messages you send me about a project, support question or enquiry.
Information collected automatically
- Technical / log data. When you submit an enquiry, I may store your IP address briefly to reduce spam and rate-limit abuse. Server and hosting logs may also record standard request metadata (for example browser type, time of access).
- Theme preference. If you use the light/dark toggle, that choice is stored in your browser’s local storage only. It is not sent to my server as a tracking cookie.
I do not currently run advertising or third-party analytics cookies on the public site. If that changes, this policy will be updated.
How I use information
- To respond to enquiries and discuss potential projects.
- To provide freelance services: design, development, quotes, invoices, hosting setup where agreed, and ongoing support.
- To process payments and keep accurate business records.
- To protect the Services against spam, abuse and security issues.
- To improve the website and how I work with clients, using only what I need.
I do not use your enquiry details for marketing lists or share them for advertising. If we are already working together, I may email you about your project, invoices, renewals or service updates that relate to that work.
Retention
- Enquiries. Kept for as long as needed to respond and follow up, then deleted or anonymised when no longer required (typically within 24 months unless a conversation becomes an active project).
- Client and billing records. Kept for the life of the project and for as long as required for accounting, tax and legal obligations in the UK.
- Project working copies. Site files and credentials I hold while building or maintaining a site for you are kept only as long as needed for that work, then removed or returned by agreement.
Security
No online service is perfectly secure. I take reasonable steps to protect personal information against unauthorised access, use, alteration or destruction, including access controls on the client portal and careful handling of credentials you share.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live (including under UK GDPR), you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information I hold about you
- Ask for correction or deletion
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent (for example a new enquiry)

You can also limit what you share on the enquiry form (only send what you are comfortable providing) and clear your browser’s local storage to reset the theme preference.
International transfers
I am based in the United Kingdom. Some providers I use (for example email or payment infrastructure) may process data in other countries. Where that happens, I rely on appropriate safeguards those providers offer for international transfers.
Children
The Services are not aimed at children under 16. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, please contact me so I can delete it.
Changes to this policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when I do. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
